Hauls are far in between these days given the whole work-from-home thing that’s been going for the last 20 months or so. Not that I’m complaining, my wallet is more thankful than ever. After celebrating my birthday a few weeks back, I treated myself to a modest haul to grab my birthday gifts and renew the year’s status.
Let’s go through a few of them!
From Sephora, I picked up the Sephora Favorites Holiday Makeup Must Haves Set ($71, sephora.ca) – the holidays is the best time to pick up value sets and I’m a huge fan of the Sephora Favourites sets because they are jam-packed with best-sellers and a really great value for the price overall! This one seems to be the best one of those they released for the holiday season so I used the opportunity to pick up my NARS birthday gift – Laguna is not my favourite bronzer most of the time but since I’ve stayed mostly home, it works quite nicely as a blush for me.
I didn’t need as much other makeup so kept my spending from Sephora to just this simple haul!
From MAC Cosmetics (which by the way, had a far more generous birthday gift), I opted to pick up a couple of old favourites including the iconic Studio Finish Concealer ($34, available here) and the MAC Set Powder ($39, available here) – not the most exciting hauls I know – I’m trying to pare down my day-to-day makeup and let the skin breathe as much as possible! Looking forward to the time Black Friday rolls around, I’ll be able to stock up on some holiday sets – Can’t go wrong with the MAC Fix+ for all occasion and uses.
I also selected my MAC Lover birthday gift which came with four full-sized eyeshadow pans and a palette. There’s a very generous selection of shades including some very popular, classic colours like Satin Taupe, Orb, Omega so I picked up four for everyday uses including Orb, Antiqued, Espresso and Jest. Each retails for $8 and along with the pan, is easily a $40 freebie which makes the haul well-worth it!
It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that I finished the haul with another one of the Moroccanoil Treatment Oil ($52, available here) – a holy grail product and I always look forward to the holiday value sets (or discounts!) to stock up on these!
Finally, I was really excited to refresh my Fall wardrobe – I opted to pick up a few new wool coats from The Bay – one from Michael Kors. I’m just really into these practical warm wool coats for the Fall season in the seasonal colours too!
I’m thrilled at the unique cuts and style of these new coats – the colours are out of my usual comfort zone but feel and look perfect for the season!
Aside from this humble haul, I spent the birthday weekend binging on Squid Game for the second time – who hasn’t at this point!? I won’t spoil it for anyone who hasn’t watched it but there’s a reason it’s so talked-about right now!
