Do you ever feel like the end of the year just came at you with no warning? Well, we’re well a few days away from Christmas now and while I’ve had my Christmas decor up from as early as beginning of November this year, it’s still weird that we’re here now. Beginning of November was probably much too early, yes, but I’m all about self-care these days and putting up the Christmas tree was a form of self-care for me.
I’m excited to be taking a bit of a breather this holiday season – I’ve not had a break for most of the year so I’m looking forward to have some time off over the next couple of days. I took days off during the summer to get caught up on my appointments (e.g. dentist, health checkups and so on) so I’ve been using this time off to relax at home – read, workout, binge-watch and bake!
On another note, I’ve recently gone down the rabbit hole of watching ASMR videos – mostly focused on grocery-shopping and mass food production (e.g. lunchbox, airline food prep, etc) – something about how it’s just mostly background noise to me is all the more comforting especially after a long day of work and all you want to do is decompress and not really think. Something about meal preparation just clicks for me as a topic of interest – I think I’m subconsciously looking for inspiration and interesting meal ideas.
Skincare Haul – Caudalie and Perricone
I celebrated my birthday recently and as one does when celebrating turning another year, the first purchases I made were skincare. Conveniently Caudalie was having a Friends & Family sale so I went to town with a few new addition to my skincare routine. I restocked on a few old favourites including the Caudalie Vinoperfect Concentrated Brightening Glycolic Essence ($54, available here) and the Caudalie Vinoperfect Dark Spot Serum ($95, available here). I may have purchased two or three bottles of this… for research purposes of course!
I always love the Caudalie Travel Size Bestsellers Set ($49, available here) – I’ve picked this up in previous Sephora hauls and always love the makeup bag they come in, in addition to having minis to try out! I’ve tried most of the products here but the eye cream has got to be one of my favourites! TheBeauty Elixir ($46) is a bit of a hit and miss – I dislike that it’s mostly alcohol but I love spritzing this during the workday when I need a bit of that pick-me-up! You can also try out much of the Vinoperfect range if you get the Vinoperfect Dark Spot Brightening Set which is available both on Sephora or the other retailers that carry the brand!
I’ve been in the market for a new Vitamin C serum – I liked the Biolumin-C one from Dermalogica but I’m interested in trying something new and grabbed the Perricone Vitamin C Ester Brightening Serum but it didn’t do too much and the eye-watering price tag led me to look elsewhere. This is a new-to-me brand and there’s decent reviews online so I’m interested in trying this out!
Have you tried any of the products mentioned here? Are there any interesting products I should check out next? I’m keeping an eye on the Sephora Sale on Sale and hoping to see sets I missed out on at a discount!
What are your plans for Christmas?
